From today, 2012-13 academic year has started across the country.

According to the information of the Education and Science of Georgia, the education season will began in 2082 schools. 

Rehabilitation works were carried out in 527 public schools this year. New schools are opened in Kakheti, Samegrelo and Guria.

Today, 140 thousand students from first to 12th grades will receive textbooks as a gift from the state.

The textbooks will be handed to members of the vulnerable families (with less than 70001 point); to the students of those families, which have three or more brother and sisters studying in school; to the children of soldiers fallen in 2008 August war. Total of about million books will be handed to students from these three categories.  

All the first grade pupils of the public schools will have president’s gift net-book in schools.

As for textbooks, this year first time, the textbooks will be sold in 400 schools throughout Georgia.

The highest price of the books will be 10 GEL. Students will be able to buy textbooks in schools from September 10 to October 8.

Like the schools, the state university has resumed studies today too.
