Mikheil Saakashvili is ready resign in exchange for returning the occupied territories

Georgian president Mikheil Saakashvili responded to Dimitri Medvedev’s statement.

According to Mikheil Saakashvili, he is ready to sign the document about quitting the government, in case Russia withdraws its troops form occupied territories.

President said, the reason why Russia wants to change the Georgian government is that it hopes to have in power the force, which directly or indirectly will legitimize the occupation of the territories.

“As for the lies, that the current government of Russia loves Georgian people, our people are already old stagers; however, they themselves admitted today why they want to change Georgian government. The present government made from Georgia – country of such successful reforms, which Russian is able to implement, but definitely not to repeat. Successful Georgia is their biggest nightmare”, - the president stated.  

According to Saakashvili, on exchange of Russian troops’ withdrawal, he is ready to cut the part of this body, which became interested of Russian authorities not once.

“My answer is simple, if they are ready to withdraw troops from occupied territories of Georgia and return control over them to our state, I am ready to visit him, will it be Medvedev or the real governor of Russia, wherever he will be and sign document about exchanging my post on returning Georgian territories. Also, I am ready additionally, to cut those parts of my body, which became subject of their interest not once. I am saying it without any irony”, - Saakashvili said.
