The current regulations are to be amended. According to this amendments, the parliament will have right of holding solemn and anniversary meetings.

Special 130 prima articles, which regulate conduction of such kind of sessions, are added to the initiated regulations. The Author of the amendments is the head of Procedural Issues Committee, Khatuna Gogorishvili.    

According to the amendments, the anniversary or solemn meeting of the parliament can be hold regarding some honored guest’s visit, celebration of the country’s important date or a fact.     

It is said in the project, that such a meeting can be dedicated to the certain important dates or facts and it will be lead by the parliament Speaker. However, if he is not able to do this, he will pass this right, in an oral or a written form, to one of his Deputies. 

The issue of inviting special guests on such kind of events is also explained in the project. Those kind of anniversary and special meetings on which presence of special guests is allowed, are determined there.

 We will recall you that, on May 26, special meeting is to be held in Kutaisi Parliament for celebrating Georgia’s Independence Day. That is why the regulations are amended.
