Bagrati Cathedral will not be removed from the UNESCO list

According to the statement of Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili, Bagrati Cathedral will not be removed from the list of UNESCO’s cultural Heritage.

The presidents made statement regarding it while his stay in Turkey.

According to the First Person of the State, it is very important to restore the Bagrati Cathedral.

“The issue of removing Bagrati Cathedral from the UNESCO cultural Heritage list is no longer considered in agenda. This issue caused discussions, but for us it is very important to restore the Church. This Church is a symbol of a united Georgia and it should be possible to conduct liturgy-prayers there. For its restoration we rented the world’s most famous restaurateur, he has prepared a draft. We will lead this issue to the end, will take into account all the remarks and comments, which the patriarchate will have”, - Saakashvili sadi.
