According to the agenda, today, ambassadors and senior diplomat guests will discuss economic projects. The conference will be opened by the U.S. economic attaché to Great Britain Joe Biden. CEO of the Georgian partnership fund, Nika Gilauri, will also address diplomats with a speech.

International Relations Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia organized annual Donor Coordination Meeting today and presented results of needs assessment.

Georgian president Mikheil Saakashvili attended process of handing grapes to enterprises in Kvareli. He talked to the locals and was interested with conditions of handing process.

At the meeting, the sides will discuss security issues, as well as, significant issues connected to Georgia’s membership in NATO and EU integration.

A few hours ago, the new U.S. ambassador to Georgia – Richard Norland arrived in Georgia together with his wife. He will be hosted by the Foreign Ministry today.

Georgian president expressed his condolences to the relatives of Archil Chokheli, who died during the special operation conducted in Lopota gore. Internal Affairs Minister and other officials were on the funerals too.

Giorgi Zedgenidze is appointed as the Minister of Environment Protection of Georgia. The former Minister, Giorgi Khachidze resigned based on his own statements, to participate in the parliamentary elections.

According to the information of the Foreign Affairs Ministry, NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen will visit Georgian on September 6. As the Deputy Minister, Nino Kalandadze said on the traditional briefing held in the Ministry, Rasmussen will take part in ambassadorial, which will be held on 5-7 September in Georgia.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia officially states that none of the 11 individuals liquidated during the special operation is the citizen of Georgia. 

Two militants have already been killed during a spec-operation conducted in the village Leninkent, outskirts of Makhachkala.
