Separatists launched a raid in Gali

Process of checking of passport regime is started in Gali region – head of Gali Internal Affairs Department Lourens Koghonia told the newspaper “Respublika Abkhazia” (“Republic of Abkhazia”).  

“We have started carrying out preventive measures as we took into account the current situation – the frequent murders of law enforcement officers and civilians. 

Also, we have received operative information on alleged terror attacks by the Georgian spec-services. We check the identity documents of civilians and verify whether or not they are residents of the region” – Koghonia said. 

According to Koghonia, population of Gali understands meaning of this examination and it will be continued.
