Policy regarding Deputy Rights is changing

Day News

Consideration of new regulations is started in the parliament, where rights of Deputies will be reviewed.

From legislators’ rights few details have not been included in the project, unlike the current regulations.

Namely, in the project there is no norm, according to which, within the boundaries prescribed by law and as prescribed by the regulations, the MP is entitled to participate in the checking process of following the Georgian law by administrative bodies or is entitled to motivationally refuse performing such a task.

In addition, according to both, the old law and the new project, the MPs have right of unlimited access to all the government organization, except legally defined cases. But the norm of the current regulations, according to which the MPs have a right to unlimitedly meet any officials provided by Georgian Constitution or others, is no longer mentioned in the new project.
