Saakashvili: Russia, the winner of the battle against the fascist occupiers, is today occupier itself

Day News

According to the assessments of Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili, Russia – the state which was the winner in the fight against the fascism occupiers – is, today, an occupant of another country itself.

President said it in his speech made during the conference of the World Tourism Organization in Batumi.

As Saakashvili said, according the European Parliament and many other resolutions, Russia carries out illegal military occupation of the territories of Georgia.

“Another anniversary of victory over fascism is celebrated today. Many of Georgian inhabitants scarified their lives for defeating fascism in the World War II. With the amount of killed people per capita Georgia was on the first place among the former Soviet countries.

The cynicism of today’s situation is reflected in the fact that on the territories of the former Soviet Union people, occupants and occupied ones are appearing again,” – Saakashvili said.
