Mikheil Saakashvili talked about the reasons for the relocation of the parliament building, while delivering his speech in the new parliament. According to him, this is the best example of decentralization.  

“The Parliament is moved from the capital to the country’s geographical center and with it division of the state on eastern and western parts is finally ended. I am sure that this building of the parliament will become one of the most important symbols of the national unity, as well as the Bagrati temple was for many centuries, which was restored this year. This is a start of decentralization. This is a continuous process of transferring power to the people”, - Saakashvili said.
