According
to the statement of Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili, on the Chicago summit the next
important step was made towards NATO membership.
The
president has made statement about it today while delivering his speech on the
solemn session in the new parliament in Kutaisi.
Saakashvili
said, Georgia was in a
special focus at the Summit.
“I
understood that the NATO membership plan is very realistic. Despite of this
progress, the process of building of the country is still far from completion.
We have to build more than is done today. We bring new investments, the
country’s economy is growing, but I know that lots of people and families still
lives in poverty, all their fate is very important for us”, - Saakashvili
