Georgina Foreign Ministry made a statement regarding the facts of violation of human rights in the Russian Federation.

"The Russian Federation has begun the next major wave of mass human rights violations. Mass searches made in homes and offices of opposition members and people with a different point of view, arrests, physical violence and restrictions on their activities by various violent means," – is said in the statement.

Another campaign of persecution of Georgian citizens should be considered in this context. Head of Federal Migration Service of Russia Konstantin Romodanovsky on June 13, 2012 indicates the beginning of persecution of Georgian citizens. It should be noted that Russian media have already called the remarks of Konstantin Romodanovsky "announcement of hunt for Georgians", - the foreign Ministry says.

“It is noteworthy that Konstantin Romodanovsky fully justifies the massive violations of human rights, inhuman treatment, and torture by the Russian authorities during the persecution and deportation of Georgian citizens and ethnic Georgians in 2006 and did not mention the people who are victims of ethnic persecution campaign.

In addition, it should be noted that the facts of ethnic intolerance on the part of the Russian authorities were widespread also in subsequent years, a sad example of which can be the brutal murder of a citizen of the Russian Federation, the ethnic Georgian Mamuka Kahishvili by staff of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, in Samara on November 10, 2011.

Here, we want to remind you December 28, 2011, report of Russian Federation Foreign Ministry “On situation regarding human rights in a number of states”, which was initially comical-looking, and today, on the background of mass and rough violations of human rights, another campaign of expulsion of Georgian citizens and ethnic Georgians the state makes Kremlin’s attitude towards human rights even clearer”, - is said in the statement of the Foreign Ministry of Georgia.
