Day News

The U.S. administration decided to declare amnesty for young illegal immigrants and to give them opportunity to stay and work in the country. The official statement about it was made by the president Obama. His initiative is expected to potentially affect 800,000 people.

Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano explained that under the new policy, people younger than 30 who came to the United States before the age of 16, pose no criminal or security threat, and were successful students or served in the military can benefit from this initiative.

Those who meet all this criteria get a two-year deferral from deportation and write to work. According to the administration, this does not mean granting citizenship – in this regard a separate application is required to be applied.

Immigrants who do not meet these criteria will be deported. Last year 400 thousand people were deported from America. Reportedly, this year is expected not less number.
