According to the information of oppositional Vice-Speaker, Paata
Davitaia, population living on the occupied territories has a problem of free
movement and it should be responded.
As Davitaia said on today’s plenary session, Abkhazian separatist
government adopted a resolution yesterday, according to which local population
is prohibited to treat and move on Georgian territory.
According to his assessments, this decision of separatists limits human
rights and does not allow people to improve health condition.
Davitaia believes, establishment of such sanctions by separatists is
connected to the United States Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s
announcement, where she offered neutral passports to the population living on
the occupied territories.
“When population of the occupied territories come for treatment, they
benefit with free health-care programs and almost all of them receives neutral
passports, therefore, this right is now restricted. We shell apply to the
Ministry of Foreign Affairs so that they inform the diplomats about limited
freedom of movement of people”, - the MP said.
The legislator addressed Abkhazians not to yield to the restrictions of
the separatist government.
“Those who think of a normal development, they cannot be afraid, as
they have right to move freely and get an aid. Everything will be done in order
to have this open window about which the west speaks. If they want to save
their identity, it must be accepted”, - the legislator said.
In addition, Davitia drew attention to the number of Russian armed
forces and said that a common government headquarters are established on the
occupied territory and they will be located in Sokhumi and Vorasinski.
