U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is in St. Petersburg, where she will head an American delegation at the APEC Women in Economy Forum which is scheduled for June 28-30. The visit is taking place within the framework of the European tour. The Secretary of State has already been in Finland and Latvia.

Today,  meeting of the U.S. official and Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov is scheduled , main topic of which will be situation in Syria.

As the U.S. State Department reports, during the meeting with Lavrov, Clinton is going to raise the issue of supplying Syria with Russian armament, what Washington considers counterproductive.

Lavrov has already declared that Moscow is not going to make excused only because of supplying Syria with refurbished equipments.
