Russia's EU ambassador, Vladimir Chizhov, has said ties would suffer if member states follow the US in putting sanctions on suspected Russian killers and fraudsters. Chizhov said it in an interview with EUobserver.

Moscow fears that after the U.S. other international organizations will also approve visa and economic sanctions against those Russian officials, who had a connection with the murder of a lawyer Sergei Magnitsky in 2009 – Foreign media reports.

For example, document named “Magnitsky list” has been included in the OSCE agenda. It will be discussed on July 8. On July 2, it became known that German Bundestag also included discussion of analogical draft in its agenda.

The U.S. Senate Foreign Affairs Committee unanimously supported a bill of “Magnitsky list” on June 26.
