Due to the disaster happened in Kakheti, Georgian government will hold a session in Telavi today.

According to their information, session in Telavi will start at 12:00.

The session today should have been held at 11:00 in the Chancellery of the Government, but due to the hail in Kakheti, the session was postponed. 

We will recall you that the heavy rain, hail and strong wind damaged several regions of the country. 

As a result of the disaster Telavi, Gurjaani and Lagodekhi were damaged. Particularly difficult situation is in Telavi, where strong wind took off the roof of the houses and the most of the population is left under the open air. As a result of the disaster, the first floors of the houses, orchards and other plantations are flooded, birds and animals have died and several villages have no electricity supply.   

In the affected regions, trees were pulled out and as a result of it roads were blocked. For now the relevant departments are mobilized in the region, roads are being cleaned and the damage is to be counted.

In addition, the strong hail damaged Akhaltsikhe, Aspindza and Vale. The fallout late night damaged roofs of houses and cars. The plants have been destroyed too. Akaltsikhe highway has been locked and the movement was impossible. Rescue works were being carried out all night long. A special commission has been established in connection with Akhaltsikhe, which will count the damage.
