Sergi Kapanadze briefed information on the statement of Putin to diplomats

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Sergi Kapanadze met with the Ambassadors accredited in Georgia and representatives of the Diplomatic Corps.
During the meeting, Kapanadze gave information to the Ambassadors on the statement of Russian president Vladimir Putin regarding starting the 2008 war.
According to the statement of the Deputy Minister, Putin has once again recognized the plans that they had in terms of Georgia and dates they prepared the plan of starting the war.
“New factual circumstances became known regarding Russian motivation. They recognized what plans they had. This is the statement, which need to be evaluated by the international community”, - Kapanadze said. Russia had “Georgian aggression” response plan, which has been adopted in the end of 2006, in early 2007, - Russian president Vladimir Putin told it to journalist after meeting with Armenian president.
“The plan existed. The plan was prepared by the General Staff and I approved it somewhere, at the end of 2006, in early 2007”, - Putin said.
He also noted that on August 7 and 8 he personally called Medvedev and Serdiukov and took part in the process of decision to attack Georgia.
