According to Bidzina Ivanishvili the ammount is intended for the valuable help of the disaster-affected population and the “Georgian dream” will monitor the process of spending the money.

Parliament will approve the budget amendments planned in connection with the disaster today. As the Parliament Speaker David Bakradze said, after the first argent aid, long-term rehabilitation of Kakheti will begin.

The two sides discussed the current state of relations between Georgia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, focusing on the need to further develop bilateral co-operation and to co-ordinate the two countries' efforts within international organizations.

Discussions focused upon the development of Georgian-Colombian bilateral relations in the spheres of economy, trade, agriculture, infrastructure and sport, and both delegations also underlined the need to develop a political dialogue between the two countries, to enhance the legal basis for co-operation and to exchange bilateral visits.

According to the President’s Press-speaker – Ms. Manana Mandjgaladze, compensations for disaster affected population will be provided until August 15, 2012. She also stated that food baskets were provided for 28,000 families. 14,000 out of them have already received it. Electricity supply for the Kakheti region will be fully restored by July 26, 2012.

According to the assessments of the parliamentary Secretary Gia Khuroshvili, the budget amendments draft is a necessary and well-planned project. As Khuroshvili said while speaking with journalists today, the mentioned project was drawn out by the president and the Ministers’ Cabinet to meet the problems of the people in the epicenter of the disaster.

Consideration of the budget amendments is underwy in the parliament. According to the statement of the member of the fraction “Christian-Democrats”, Levan Vefkhvadze, compensations offered by the government are not enough. Vepkhvadze explained that the amounts offered by the government should be tripled.

The budget amendments needed for the compensations of the disaster-affected population will be discussed today in the parliament. As it is known, the amendments package will be reviewed by the Budget Committee first.

The chairman of the State audit service, Levan Bejashvili has resigned.

According to the statement of the Finance Minister of Georgia, Dimitri Gvindadze, funding of the Health Ministry will increase by GEL 6 000 000. Minister explained that the mentioned funding will be used to create a database of job seekers.
