Distribution of compensation to the population will start from August
According to the President’s Press-speaker – Ms. Manana Mandjgaladze, compensations for disaster affected population will be provided until August 15, 2012. She also stated that food baskets were provided for 28,000 families. 14,000 out of them have already received it. Electricity supply for the Kakheti region will be fully restored by July 26, 2012.

“Christian-Democrats” are asking for tripling compensations offered to the disaster-affected population
Consideration of the budget amendments is underwy in the parliament. According to the statement of the member of the fraction “Christian-Democrats”, Levan Vefkhvadze, compensations offered by the government are not enough. Vepkhvadze explained that the amounts offered by the government should be tripled.
