Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia expresses its deep concern regarding the postponement of the April 24 Gali meeting of the Incident Prevention and Response Mechanisms and regarding the imminent danger of not having the EU Monitoring Mission (EUMM) participate in the future meetings of the Mechanisms.

Today, Dimitri Medvedev has reiterated once more that Kremlin’s unrealized dream is to see someone else on place of Mikheil Saakashvili, president of Georgia. However, Medvedev, himself, is leaving the president’s post and accordingly, he gave his last interview with this status to Russian federal TV channel. Among other issues he, of course, spoke about Georgia too.

According to the information of the Ministry, during the meeting, Grigol Vashadze and Edmond Haxhinasto discussed various issues concerning bilateral and multilateral co-operation between their two countries, focusing on the prospect of further developing economic relations and on possible directions for co-operation within the framework of international organizations.

As it is said in the statement spread by the Ministry, the official invitations sent to NDI and IRI emphasize the full readiness of the Georgian side to host the observers from these organizations at the time of their earliest convenience with the aim to facilitate the thorough monitoring of the processes in both the pre-election and election phases.

Within the two-day official visit, the Poland Security Council delegation headed by Bureau chief Stanislav Kojey arrived in Georgia.

If we will tense the situation in the parliament, I am sure, this exacerbation will not stay within the walls of the parliament and it may spread on other regions of Georgia too.

In the hotel “Radisson”, Tbilisi Mayor Gigi Ugulava opened the 6th international forum of local economic development. The international forum will be attended by representatives of more than 20 European, Asian and African countries. Among the guests there will be mayors of other cities, representatives of local governments, the Diplomatic corps, experts, representatives of NGOs and civil society.

As president said during his stay in Khashuri, building of the region is started and, to spite the enemy, it will never stop again, as there is still a lot to be built.

In frameworks of the visit, the meeting of Georgian national Security Council and Polish delegation is planned on April 26, where both sides will sign a cooperation plan for security between the two countries.

The oppositional fraction – “Unity for justice” demanded to have five ministers in the parliament; namely, Justice Minister Zurab Adeishvili, Interior Minister Vano Merabishvili, Ministry of corrections and legal assistance Khatuna Kalmakhelidze, Culture Minister Nikoloz Rurua and Education Minister Dimitri Shashkin

The third round of political consultations between Georgia and China will be held today in Beijing. The political consultations significantly contribute to strengthening relations between the two countries.
