Despite some reached agreements between the sides,
situation in Syria
is still much tensed.
The UN and Arab League envoy to Syria,
Kofi Annan, has said he has received assurances from Damascus that it will respect his ceasefire
plan – BBC reports.
"We have been
in touch with them and have had positive answers from them and have also
approached governments with influence to ensure that all parties respect the
ceasefire," – Annan said.
According to him,
if everyone respects the agreement, by six in the morning on Thursday
conditions on the ground will be much improved.
However, no steps
in that direction have been made yet. More then 100 people were reported dead
after fresh shelling on Tuesday in the city of Homs and raids in Deraa province, military actions
are not stop on Wednesday either.
A deadline for
Syrian troops and weaponry to withdraw from the cities came and went Tuesday
morning, with no reports of change in the year-long crisis that has killed
thousands.
