Georgian population choose new parliament

Today, parliamentary elections are to be conducted throughout Georgia. Along with the parliamentary elections, the elections of the Supreme Council of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara will be conducted too. 

Citizens choose the parliament on 4 years. The Deputy number is 150, out of which 77 MPs are chosen on a proportional electoral system, while 73 members – on a majoritarian.  

The pooling stations across Georgia will work from 08:00 till 20:00.

Elections are being carried out in 45 pooling stations opened abroad too.

According to CEC information, elections on October 1 is conducted in 3648 unites of 73 districts. 

For the parliamentary elections, the CEC has opened 71 so-called, special polling stations. Two such stations are opened in hospitals, while the rest in the penitentiary system establishments, unites of armed forces and in the police.

Parliamentary elections are observed by 61 observing mission of international organizations.
