Parliament will consider Giorgi Tughushi’s report this week

Parliament is going to consider 650-page report of 2011 year of the public defender, Giorgi Tughushi this week.  

Today on the Bureau held in the Parliament the exact date when the Human Rights Committee will consider ombudsman’s report, is going to be chosen.  


We will recall you that Ombudsman’s annual report was presented to the parliament on March 28. 300 pages of the report is dedicated to the situations existed in the penitentiary system. In addition, the specific facts of human rights violation and violations of journalists’ rights while covering demonstrations are described in the reports.     


We will recall you, that at the first stage, the 2011 report of Giorgi Tughushi will be considered by the Human rights Committee of the Parliament; after, it will be discussed on the plenary session
