Issue of ID cards was discussed on the meeting of Synod yesterday.

The decision of the meeting was introduced to media by Gori and Samtavisi Metropolitan, Archbishop Andrea Gvazava.

The verdict of the Synod says: “According to the Church teachings the version of ID cards presented for now is not a ring of antichrist. Therefore, this card can be used. However, as this issue causes dissensions in the community, the Georgian government was asked, if possible, to allow alternative means of identification”.
