Minister of Labour, Health
and Social Affairs of Georgia, Zurab Chiaberashvili visited Ushkhvans family
with 7 members living in Tsalka and personally brought health insurance
policies to them.
The Minister gave detailed
information on rules of use and conditions of the policies to the family
members. While speaking with the family, Zurab Chiaberashvili drew attention to
the importance of the insurance and necessity of expansion of the circle of
insured people.
Ministry of Health-care of Georgia started
distribution of policies from July 15. Except children aged 0-5 and pensioners,
from September 1, students, vulnerable people under 18 and other distinctively
expressed vulnerable people will be able to get the insurance policy as well.
At that stage, approximately 2.4 million people, it means, every second person
in Georgia
will be insured.
Later, the Minister of Health visited the Tsalka Medical
center owned by the Ltd. “Geo
Hospital” and met with
the hospital staff. Zurab Chiaberashvili introduced to them challenges existed
in the health-care sector and main trends of reforms in this sphere.
