Georgian Orthodox Church celebrates Svetitskhovloba
Svetitskhoveli is considered to be one of the main and foremost churches of Georgians, as it holds the great sanctity - Christ’s cloak in it. Georgian Jews from Mtskheta named Elias and Longinos were in Jerusalem when Jesus was crucified. Elias received clothes of Jesus. The Holy robe was brought to Mtskheta by them.

Orthodox Church celebrates day of St. Peter and Paul today
Today is a day of St. Peter-Paul. In connection with the holiday, liturgy-prayer will be conducted in the Orthodox churches of Georgia. St. Apostle Peter and Paul are distinguished from other apostles by their contribution and martyr merit. For this reason the Church recalls them as the “heads of apostles”.
