Prosecutor’s office is asking for 4 years imprisonment of a sergeant who led a soldier till suicide

Gori military unit sergeant 26-years-old Tengiz Gelashvili is accused of leading 19-years-old Koba Makharashvili to the condition of committing suicide. As the prosecutor’s press-office head, Khatuna Iosava told “Internet.ge”, the suspect has already been arrested. According to her, the prosecutor’s office is asking for deprivation of liberty of the sergeant for 4 years.  
The pretrial hearing on case of the dead soldier was held yesterday in Gori regional Court. 
It is known that, Gelashvili served in the 5th Infantry Brigade of the 51th Battalion together with Koba Merabishvili.   
As reported, on July 12 of the current year, while performing their duties, Gelashvili beat Koba Makharashvili twice in face in front of other soldiers, after what Koba Makharashvili committed a suicide.   
We will recall you that Koba Makharashvili killed himself with a firearm few hours later.
