London Olympics organizers have partly considered request of Georgia. On the official web-page of the Olympics, the files of Besik Kudukhov and Denis Tsargush were corrected. Currently, only South Ossetia and Gudauta are mentioned as their place of birth and the Russian initials that were indicated in brackets, are now removed. However, these paces still are not referred as the territories of Georgia.
Two days ago, the National Olympic Committee of Georgia has officially addressed “London 2012” organizer Committee to correct the mistakes made on the site. It was said in the statement that according to the form submitted by Russia, Abkhazia and South Ossetia are mentioned as territories of Russia. Georgian side requested “this mistake to be corrected and Georgia to be indicated as the birth place of the sportsmen”.
London Olympics Committee has considered this request only partially. Although the mentioned territories are no longer mentioned as the Russian property, but Olympic organizers refrained from recognizing South Ossetia and Gudauta as territories of Georgia.   “London 2012” is to be opened today, where 35 Georgian athletes will contest in 12 species of sports.
