Americans will use fleas and cockroaches as spies

United States’ army will test two spy robots created by a company “Boston Dynamics”.

Wheel robot – “Sand Flea” is able to jump above 9 meters, while walking “robot-cockroach” –Rhex is successfully able to move freely on the mountain relief full with dirt and swim under water.  

The”Robot-cockroach” has six “legs” and weights about 13 kilograms. It is equipped with observing cameras and works 6 hours with battery. Robot’s radius of action is about 600 meters.

”Sand Flea” is a light four-wheel robot, which weights 4,9 kilogram. He can perform 25 jumps, which are also provided by a battery. It is not difficult for him to jump on the roof of 9-meter building.   
It is planned to use the robots in Afghanistan.
